How to Delete All Your Reddit Comments at Once
Your Reddit comment history is the single biggest window into who you are online. Unlike posts, comments are scattered across thousands of threads, making them nearly impossible to find and delete manually. Here's how to mass delete all of them - or just the ones you want gone.
Why your comments matter more than your posts
Posts are visible on your profile, but comments are where the real damage hides. A comment you left on your city's subreddit reveals your location. A reply in a work-related thread reveals your industry. A heated argument reveals your political views. Individually they seem harmless - together they paint a complete picture of who you are.
The average long-time Redditor has thousands of comments spread across dozens of subreddits. Deleting them one by one through Reddit's interface would take hours. That's why Wipe for Reddit exists - to let you bulk delete posts and comments in minutes instead of hours.
Step-by-step: mass delete Reddit comments
Download the app
Download Wipe for Reddit for macOS, Windows, or Linux. It's free - no account, no browser extension, no cloud.
Sign in with your Reddit account
A real Reddit login page opens inside the app. Your credentials go directly to Reddit. 2FA works. We never see or store your password.
Switch to the Comments tab
Your content loads into separate tabs. The Comments tab shows every comment you've ever made on Reddit, with the subreddit, karma score, and date for each one.
Sort and filter
Sort by least karma to find your most downvoted comments first. Filter by subreddit to target specific communities. Use keyword search to find comments mentioning specific topics - useful if you want to remove anything mentioning personal details like your city, workplace, or real name.
Select and delete
Select individual comments or hit "Select All." Click delete. The app spaces out deletions with random delays to stay under Reddit's rate limits. You can cancel mid-operation anytime.
Smart strategies for comment deletion
You don't have to delete everything. Here are some targeted approaches that many users find useful:
Delete by subreddit: Use the subreddit filter to remove all your comments from communities you no longer want to be associated with. The Insights dashboard shows exactly which subreddits you've been most active in. We have a full walkthrough on how to delete Reddit comments from one subreddit.
Delete the downvoted ones: Sort by least karma to surface your worst takes first. These are the comments most likely to cause problems if someone finds them. See our guide on finding and deleting downvoted Reddit comments.
Delete by keyword: Search for personal details - your city name, employer, school, real name - and delete any comments that mention them. This is one of the fastest ways to reduce your doxxing risk.
What happens when you delete a Reddit comment?
When you delete a Reddit comment, the text content is removed and replaced with "[deleted]". Your username is disassociated from the comment. However, replies to your comment from other users remain visible - the thread doesn't collapse or disappear. Any quotes of your comment in other replies will also remain.
That's why acting sooner is better - the longer a comment stays up, the more likely it is to be quoted, archived, or indexed by third-party services. If you're planning to delete your Reddit account, wipe your comments first.
